Request a quote

The request a quote feature enables customers to submit an inquiry for a product or service rather than purchasing it at a set price. Once a customer submits a quote request, the store owner can review the details and respond with a personalized quote or an invitation to complete the purchase.

02

Shipping/location

Shipping rates and delivery fees based on the customer’s location, especially for oversized or international shipments.

03

Special requirements

Any specific conditions or configurations the customer may need (e.g., color options, special materials, etc.).

Why use the request a quote feature?

For businesses offering custom products or services, a fixed price on every product may not be appropriate.

With a request a quote feature, you can set a base price for products but allow flexibility in pricing based on the customer’s specific needs. This is ideal for:

  • Wholesale buyers looking for bulk discounts.
  • Custom product orders (e.g., personalized gifts or made-to-order items).
  • Services or consultations that require pricing based on specific client needs.

Request a quote feature benefits

A request a quote feature opens up a conversation between you and the customer. It provides an opportunity to discuss their requirements, clarify details, and possibly offer better terms or deals that are not available through standard product pricing. This interaction can build trust and help convert interested visitors into paying customers.

Capture leads and build relationships
By adding a request a quote button, you’re encouraging customers to engage directly with you. Even if the customer doesn’t immediately make a purchase, their inquiry becomes a lead that you can nurture, whether through follow-up emails, personalized discounts, or ongoing communication.
Offer flexible business terms
With the ability to negotiate and offer custom pricing, businesses can be more flexible with their terms. For instance, you can offer special discounts for large orders, negotiate prices based on contract length, or offer exclusive deals to loyal customers.
Drive more sales
Providing a request a quote feature can actually lead to higher sales and larger order volumes. Customers often hesitate to make big purchases without knowing the price, especially for custom or bulk products. A quote request allows you to handle these potential concerns and make a tailored offer that suits both the customer’s budget and your business needs.

You don’t always have to choose between two worlds. With the WCB form actions add-on you can add a secondary button to your configurator forms. This allows you to let customers add configurations to cart directly, OR request for a quote.
